Road Trip

We have to return to Ellensburg (sigh). When I'm finished cleaning up my sister's mess, I'm never again returning to that f'ing city.

There are three abandoned cars on the property. One belongs to Curt, the guy who got my sister arrested. Another belongs to his ex-wife's boyfriend. The third belongs to some other guy my sister shacked up with, before Curt came along.

I called the Sheriff's Department, and was told I need to fill out paperwork in order to get the cars declared abandoned, so that I can have them towed. Worse, I have to actually be there to do it! they can't process the paperwork remotely. Worse, they say I have to give the last known owners of the cars 30 days to respond before I can have them taken away as abandoned.

My friend Renee said, "But if someone parks in my driveway, I can have the car towed. Why can't you just have these cars towed?"

Good question. I mailed the Sheriff's Department to ask, but never got a response. So I'll have to ask tomorrow. I plan on making a bunch of phone calls during the drive...

- Sheriff's Department, to find out why I can't just get the cars towed.
- The local waste management company, to have a dumpster delivered to the property.
- One of the local property management companies, to arrange for mowing. (I've been ordered to remove noxious weeds from the property. Something called diffuse knapweed.)
- The local power company, to arrange a meeting on the property, to have power rerouted to the neighbor's lot.

See, when the property was purchased, my sister was supposed to get a well installed. The water is coming from a neighbor's well, which in turn receives power from our lot.

So I need to arrange for power to be rerouted to the neighbor's lot, and have the well capped off so that only his property is receiving water.

Monday we're driving to Klamath Falls, and staying in a KOA. Tuesday we're driving to Ellensburg, and staying in a KOA. Wednesday and Thursday we'll be throwing more stuff out of the trailer, and staying at a Days Inn. I decided air conditioning and showers would be nice, given the temperature is expected to be in the mid-90's while we're up there (ugh).

Friday we'll be driving back to Klamath Falls, and Saturday back to Campbell.
