Another Extended Absence

Forgive me Blogger, for I have sinned. It has been two and a half months since my last update.

Buddy's elsewhere! Woohoo! Of course that's old news, as of my last update on December 2nd. I just checked the Aussie Rescue site, and he's still in foster care. According to their latest update, he's put on quite a bit of weight and is now up to 57 lbs. Good to hear.

So what have I been doing with my time? Playing WoW, doing yard work, watching TV, studying, playing with Toby, dining and gaming with friends. We're no longer playing Vampire (sigh), so next month I'll be starting a new WoW RPG campaign. In the meantime, we've been playing board and party games. Apples to Apples, Robo Rally, Settlers of Catan, and a few others.

I've also recently planted a Stella cherry and an Asian pear. I'm moving the grapes from the front yard into the back, and planting cardinal climbers and Grandpa Ott's morning glories in their place. The bark strip along side the driveway now has planters containing a Bowle's mauve, two red Spanish lavenders, and two trailing rosemarys. And as usual, the orange trees are being most prolific.

I also feel as though I'm finally ready to start looking for work. I seriously needed the time off, as I just did not enjoy the last four years at Oracle. But over the past couple of weeks, I've been re-educating myself on HTML and CSS, and have familiarized myself with XHTML, which I'd never used before. I next need to jump into JavaScript and DOM, which I also haven't used in a while. Together, these'll help me apply for a couple of positions I'm interested in at Apple.
